It's basically voicing your opinions on a grand scale in a structured manner! xP The World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC) is the World Cup of competitive school debating , where high schoolers have the unique opportunity to represent their countries and compete against other national teams to be crowned the World Champions! ISDS is responsible for selecting the Indian team to compete at WSDC. In 2020, WSDC will be held at Mexico between July 7th – July 17th. This tournament gives students a unique exposure to different cultures around the world and encourages them to create networks that last them forever. National teams engage in healthy competition for the championship, and along the way, learn to engage in constructive thought and speech, which act as tools of persuasion in their future. Google Code-in ( GCI ) is an annual programming competition hosted by Google to introduce pre-university students (ages 13-17) to open source software development . Because Google Code-in is often the first experience many students have with open source, the contest is designed to make it easy for students to jump right in. Open source organizations chosen by Google provide a list of tasks for students to work on during the seven-week contest period. A unique part of the contest is that each task has mentors from the organization assigned should students have questions or need help along the way. Google Code-in 2019 opens for pre-university students to register and start claiming tasks on December 2, 2019 . The contest ends on January 23, 2020 . Science brings knowledge, and so does reading the small print It's all about making a video to make stuff you've learnt interesting! xP The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global competition for students to inspire creative thinking about science. Students ages 13 to 18 from countries across the globe are invited to create and submit original videos (3:00 minutes in length maximum) that bring to life a concept or theory in the life sciences, physics or mathematics. The submissions are judged on the student’s ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in engaging, illuminating, and imaginative ways. Turn your Thoughts into a Big Idea It's basically a science fair for Class 8 to class 12 students from schools in India! xP All you have to is create something unique in one of the given fields and win a whole lot of knowledge and cool stuff! It promotes and nurtures science and scientific research among young Indian innovators. It recognises and rewards outstanding projects. It provides a platform for winning students to represent India at the  International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) , the world’s largest international pre-college science competition, held annually in the U.S . The process for selection of students for participation in the events has been merged, taking into account the requirements of the individual tests.
