Olympiads - II
Now TWO really unique ones! xP
Indian Computing Olympiad
This is broken down into two modes of selection.
If competitive coding sounds fun to you, then this is your chance. Informatics is the written version of it while Computing is the coding version; however, both lead to the same goal.
Prizes:
Top candidates get to be part of a camp and get mentored for a week while the final selected team represents India at IOI. (Again, a sponsored trip!)

Panini Linguistics Olympiad
It sounds daunting, but its all based on LOGIC!
It is the Indian national program for the selection and training of the candidates who represent India at the International Linguistics Olympiad for a student from 6th to 8th (Juniors) and 9th to 12th (Seniors). The main purpose of PLO is to create awareness of LINGUISTICS and popularize the field of computational linguistics.
The PLO Round 1 is a national level test which typically comprises of about 5-6 problems. These problems are all self contained thus, you are expected to sharpen logic and develop your own techniques to solve problems from languages all over the world! (In those 4 hrs itself)
After PLO, you will realize how to look for patterns in languages.
Don't be scared of prep!
PLO Round 2- is typically a 7 to 10-day camp for the top 25-30 seniors and 5-10 juniors selected in that year. It is hosted at IIITH. In between this week of fun, contestants compete in a mid-test and an end test, which determines wether they are selected to participate in the IOL.
Top candidates get to be part of a camp and get mentored for a week while the final selected team represents India at IOL. (Again, a sponsored trip!)
